Meet Our Founder
Anil also fondly known as Bunny, a keen Shikari, farmer, businessman, and later hotelier, inherited the land from his father, Inder Mohan Puri. His passion for hunting is evident from the tigers and buck heads displayed on the walls.



Sent through the World Health Organization to eradicate malaria and settle Punjab and Bengal refugees post-partition. As a token of appreciation, awarded 300 acres of land, now known as The Homestead.

1965
Pioneering Days
The area was a dense forest, grassland, and swamp, rich in wildlife
including tigers, elephants, and deer. Life was rugged, involving living in mud huts with thatched roofs and oil lamps.

Family & Partnership
Bunny married Amita (Amu), who became the backbone of The Homestead. Together, they transformed the property into a comfortable, modern homestay with a beautiful garden and ancient trees.
1966
Development of The Homestead
Gradually, the land was cleared and farming began, focusing on orchards of luscious mangoes and lychees. For almost 15 years the pioneering days were spent living in mud huts with thatched roofs and oil lamps.
2024
Continuing Legacy
The Homestead is now a spacious and cozy abode with a relaxed ambiance and a magical quality where time simply disappears. The latest addition to the operation is their granddaughter, Deia Puri, ensuring the family legacy continues.
